all you need is love

I have been meaning to write on here since the Oscars about a certain subject. I dont mind watching the Oscars, seeing beautiful gowns and watching who wins. But when they announced the winner for Best Actor i wasnt surprised that Mickey Rourke didnt win and that Sean Penn did. Right then i was like well i can go home now during his speech and make it to see Best Picture, because i thought he would bash on people (let alone the LDS church) for supporting Prop 8.

when i went to work the next day, i overheard someone talking about it and said it was really good. So i decided to youtube his speech, and i actually thought it was good.... Because he really didnt bash on anyone, he pretty much said that we just need to treat each other equally. I  may not totally view how he thinks we should treat people equal by letting same sex get married, but I think in some of the areas I do.

first off i want to say getting married and
having a civil union is the same thing, you get a piece of paper that says you are together, end of discussion.

Now with the whole "equal" thing, if i had a son that came out to me saying that he was gay, i would not try to tell him that he isnt. I would teach him the gospel, tell him that our Heavenly Father does not believe in same sex marriage BUT he still loves you for who you are. I think for people who are gay in the church should be able to do things that straight people can do, EXCEPT get married in the temple.

In my parents ward, my mom had this cute boy in her sunday class, that i would say is about 17ish he has been attending SLCC for about 1-2 years to major in interior design. He finished high school early because he was picked on, picked on because he was gay. THIS right here does not show that we treat each other equally nor with LOVE.

I have to say this boy is the sweetest boy i have met at his age and yet with everything he still believes in the church and i believe that he wants to go on a mission...... with what i know about him i think he would be an awesome missionary

This is a prime example that some people have a tough time showing their love towards others especially if they are gay. No matter what race, ethnicity, religious background, mistakes that you have made, ANYTHING! you still love one another, you treat each other EQUALLY. We dont have a song called "Love One Another" just for fun. Lets show a little love in this world, it maybe hard for some but just think what would life be like if we showed love versus hate.

I will also like to mention.......
that i no longer like Tom Hanks. He said that "church members donating money to make prop 8 happen is un-American" and I LOVE the churches response "Expressing an opinion in a FREE and democratic society is as American as it gets."

ROCK ON!!!

XOXO
