yesterday was a good day

first off

i went and drove up to my momma and poppas house to meet up with my older brother to run.

i dont know if you know this but i do my longs runs every saturday (unless it is snowing)

thats 13 miles

yesterday we ran all the way up to the capital building and back

it was nice and pretty easy

i clocked in at 2 hours and 4 minutes

i think i went a little faster because i borrowed this guy from my bro and i cant wait till i get me own in the mail this week

after i recovered from my run

i got ready for the day

played with my nephews

then went to this place to do my grocery shopping

love whole foods

love my organic pink lady apples

then i went home relaxed

watched some Harry Potter

then went to pick up my friend to go see this awesome lady

im not going to lie

this concert was pretty epic

she is soo odd but i love it

in about 35 days i will be running the salt lake half marathon

thats already a reward in itself to complete 13 miles

but

i decided to added another

if i finish my 13 miles in 2 hours or less

(even if i finish at say 2 hours 20 seconds)

i am buying myself one of these.

i want one sooo bad

do i need it?

no probably not

so that is why it is a reward to myself for finishing under 2 hours

because a first time half marathoner usually doesnt finish 2 or under 2 hours.

today i went to do a session at the Jordan temple.

being able to go the lords house fills my net.

today is an interesting monday

a few sundays ago i missed my sacrament meeting so instead of going to relief society

i saw a good friend from high school

who had church at the same time just opposite schedule

so i went with him to his sacrament

and a lady shared in her talk a poem that i seriously have never heard of

but seriously describes that times that i felt alone.

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.

Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods in my life, when i was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I should see only one set of footprints.

So i said to the lord, "You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the said. Why, when I need you the most, you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied, "The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you."

you have been an interesting year.

but one that i will remember the most.

at the beginning of the year i was slammed with bills

all i was seeing in my head was

$$$$$$$

i never really went to church. well lets just say i didnt have a home ward.

i moved to South Jordan

i went to Vail, Colorado with some pretty awesome people.

Around March things started to change.

Im in a home ward, i have a calling the service commity, I am now a full tithing payer (i really wasnt one before, even in yw's)

I got to the temple every week ( before this, the last time i went to the temple was when i was a laurel)

and now i am preparing myself to go through the temple. im so excited

Summer came and was gone before my eyes.

it was filled with many days of laying by the pool

vacations

hanging out with my nephews

went on hike to cecret lake. BEAUTIFUL

and many concerts

the one and only Paul McCartney, John Mayer, She and Him, Mates of States and many other from Twilight concerts series.

Autumn was beautiful

i love this time of the year

October was the month that i decided to change my health around

i now go to the gym everyday except sunday

i am now a health nut

Winter has been rather busy

family, work, and gym.

i have not seen many of my friends

which makes me rather sad.

now with the new year i hope to see them more

today i am

THANKFUL

for

Swimming.

I feel lucky to be the swimmer in the meek family.

back when i was 5 my mother put me in swimming lessons and the coach mentioned to my mom that i was really good and that i could be on the swim team

all i had to do was swim the length of the pool.

that was something that i struggled with in my lesson

until

my mom goes if you want to be on the swim team, you have to swim from here to there without stopping.

so i did.

and i didnt stop.

I was on the Salt Lake Swimming and Tennis Club for 10 years.

and

i was one of the best in my age group for the Butterfly stroke.

now i just swim for fun.

and I LOVE IT!

I regret not sticking with it during high school

(that is another story)

but i feel lucky to be able to just go anywhere

and

whip out all four strokes and still rock at it.

also can i tell you how much i get the chills from watching this man swim butterfly.

i love him.

for a few years my family would go up to Grandma and Grandpa Meek's for thanksgiving dinner

at the dinner table Grandma Meek would give us about 3 candy corns and say what we are thankful for.

i miss that.

with that i am thankful for my Grandma Meek.

she was always such a good example

she took care of others before herself

she loved her grandkids and thought of us up until she passed away from ovarian cancer.

Grandma Meek, i miss you, i love you and i cant wait to see you again.

Saturday Night Lights

after work saturday i headed up to logan to watch

USU vs. Fresno State

i met up with my friend Vannessa

(for those who dont know i attended usu for a few years)

the first half was awesome and it got even better when i ran into a coworker of mine

with sideline tickets

even though that 2nd half was rough and USU ended up losing the game

Sunday and Monday

were great, hung out with the family, played some golf. just relaxing

Tuesday

went to work then went to a 7 couples, eating at 7, on the 7

that was surprisingly fun.

Wednesday

went to work and left early because i was cleaning a patients room

and

was cleaning what i thought was a pill crusher

it was a pill cutter and my thumb went right on the blade,

i got 4 stitches

Thursday

went to work, went to gamma. Love Gamma! i have missed those girls

came home watched my t.v. show Vampire Diaries

then went to bed.

Friday

went to work, got a phone call from my roommate around 8am telling me

someone broke into our house.

found out that they stole

my golf clubs

they stole other things that belonged to my roommates including Diet Pepsi that was in the fridge

(good bye golf clubs)

That night got a text from a boy that i know saying that he could go to the football game

Saturday

Went to the Utah football game and watched as they defeated

UNLV and hung out with my friends at the one and only

Utah State Fair

Last week was a great week.... it just was a bumpy one.

story time

a few weeks ago i ran out of gas. on the freeway :/

two weeks ago i was working monday and tuesday night from 3-11 and on wednesday from 8-10. on tuesday night driving home my gas light went on. i told myself when i was heading home i will stop for gas. yea that didnt happen, i was too tired and i had to work early in the morning. So i told myself i can get myself to and from work tomorrow then i will fill my tank. Well wednesday wasnt the greatest day, i got off work and i went straight home to bed. Thursday morning, i didnt have work and at around 2:30pm i decided to go and see Inception (btw. awesome movie) at the gateway. The showing was at 3:00pm and then next showing wouldn't be until 6:00pm when i would have to pay full price. So i rushed to Gateway, without filling my tank. After the movie i got in my car and the needle was barely on the E. sooo i thought i would be fine till i got home. Well i stopped at Fashion Place to get a pizza from California Pizza Kitchen and went on my way. I got on I-215 heading west got on the belt route to head south on I-15 and while i was going around the circle i saw a highway patrol man helping two people with the hood of their car up and said to myself "that sucks" WELL about 5ish yards after i press on the gas petal and I RAN OUT OF GAS!!! hahaha pulled over to the the tiny tiny part of the freeway (it was soo tiny that every time a car sped by, my car did not just wobble, it SHOKE! scary) so i called my family. My dad told me to call 911 (not that cool to call compared to when i was a kiddo) and ask for the highway patrol people because apparently they have people with gasoline to help the stranded people like myself. Well they finally came 30 minutes later and had no gasoline. The nice man told me he would wait with me until my nice older brother Nathan came to my rescue with a gallon of gasoline. and he did :)

I have to say i have such an awesome older brother even though we may not get along all the time you are the best older brother and sister could ever ask for. Love you Nate!

if you know me well enough. U2 is and has been my FAVORITE band since i was 6. The first song that i heard by them was "WITH or WITHOUT you" after my little sister Lauren's funeral. and i have been hooked since. Every time i hear that song i think of lil' Lauren and i still get a little teary eyed.

I hope, i hope they sing this song along with many of my favorite songs on JUNE 3rd

it will make my night.

My mom told me one day when we were talking about my little sister and the time around her death..

she mention she thought that i was the one that would one day slip away...

so many trips to the hospital growing up

heat stroke and seizures when i was 3

fractured arm when i was in 2nd grade

viral meningitis when i was in 5th grade

and tonsillitis my senior year... soooo bad that when my mom woke me up at three in the morning i was sitting straight up in my bed... gasping for air

the doctor said my airway was smaller than a straw and when you have asthma thats not a good combo

so why am i here? what im i needing to prove?

for about 6 months i have had a an old school camera

I bought the camera off of Ebay just on my boring days when i was living in

Provo way back in May

I was looking for film all over the place until i found some at

Walmart, in Arizona while visiting my sister

so i bought a couple of boxes and bought some more at the walmart in PC

About 10-15 boxes of film, i only wish i bought more

well now im going to show you a picture of my mother and my aunt (my dad's sister)

my mother likes to tell me that i belong to her family because i look so much like my aunt when really i just look like my Grandma Meek vs anything on the Judd/Cotrell side (though i did pick up on my Grandpa Judd's love for shopping :) )

THOUGH i do think i have a little bit of the JUDD look.. but when it comes to looks im a MEEK/HARDING and my lovely Grandpa Meek loved it. Because he always told me that i looked like his wife, my GRANDMA MEEK

when she was younger. Though sometime i thought it was annoying, always having to say "Hi Grandpa" when i went to visit him and he always ALWAYS had to look at me and give me a bit wet kiss, or telling everyone that i had to be the first one to swim in his pool (extremely embarrassing) BUT the nice thing about all this, i was a look-a-like to a cool, classy lady with a very tender heart, MY GRANDMA MEEK.

first i woud like to say sorry i havent posted lately, actually i havent posted anything for June, but that will change. ill be doing another post later on to recap my month of June but for now i would like to talk about this song that i currently cant stop listening to.... i started listening to it non stop at the most interesting time, the beginning of June when all the rain clouds came in and it has felt like they have never left. I have seen some sunny days but with whats going on with my life this month everyday seems like its a cloudy day and listening to this song makes me feel a little better. Every time i listen to it, i put it on repeat because i just want to listen to it over and over again. Im sure many of you have heard this song, its in a movie called "Wicker Park" and i just found this song a itunes and i had to buy. The song is called "Maybe Tomorrow" by Stereophonics. if you read the lyrics youll understand what i am saying... and the beat and voice make the song even better.

Today the sun was shinning and it was HOT. I was laying out and i decided instead of laying out here on some uncomfortable grass (though it usually isnt comfortable, but this grass was really really uncomfortable, anyways.) I decided to mystic tan, i have always wanted to try it, and i know that i should be doing a mystic tan versus tanning beds. So i found a place, and boy i felt trapped in a box, scared to press the start button. because you are in this box with three spray pointy things at you with your hand up in the air like when a cop tells you "put your hands in the air," and you have no idea how this will spray at you. will it be hard, soft, like droplets......how would this spray at you. so of course i jumped and maybe gave a little bit of a yelp. haha anyways i got out wipped myself off then on my way i felt soooo disgusting and the lady told me i couldnt show for 6 hours. By the time i got home i pretty much went the hell with this and jumped in the shower.

I will never do this again..... maybe if i have skin cancer and i want a tan

i just wanted to give everyone a little heads up...... it official i am in PROVO!!! i moved in last night with my last load and set up some things because the girl before hasnt moved all over her stuff out (mostly clothes). i set up my bed and just crashed hoping that i wouldnt have to go into work this morning. I ended up being canceled this morning.... no one wants to pay premium anymore... and i woke up a little confused then i finally remembered im in my new place in happy valley. Now my room is huge, well compared to what i was living in the other day so i might be switching things up again once this gal moves her stuff out. when that happens i will post pictures of my new living area!!! anyways i already miss a bunch of people!! im sad that i wont be seeing my mom every sunday, Mckensie every other weekend and in between, caitlin, Debi, Kristin, and everyone else! i will miss you all but you will be seeing me again. I hope you all have an awesome summer!

SOOO i have just gotten back from the one and only Britney Spears and i just to say what an amazing concert. Soo happy that i went and even more happy that two people got up and left on the second row and taylor and i went and took there seats. mawahhhaa. i know i have not wrote for who knows how long, but A LOT has happened over the month and more to come.

FIRST

i told you all that i got a job in the CCU, ya so i started last wednesday and let me tell you, i was seriously having second thoughts about this job. Techs do soooo much that everything went over my head. So as you can tell i wasnt really excited to go back thursday evening, but being a good girl i went. It was a little better until a patient decided to code (they went into cardiac arrest) James, the other tech that was training me just jumped on them and started doing chest compressions and i am just standing there having a hard time believing this is happening and too scared to do chest compressions because i have never EVER had to do them. So i just decided to help out with the nurses by grabbing things and sending blood when i said to myself " JOCELYN, what the hell are you doing, here is a chance to do CPR and you are running scared" so when i got back to the room, i went to James and said "Im doing it!" and i did it, and I sure did SUCK at them. I was horrible, one of the nurses told me to sing "Stayin Alive" and i had the hardest time keeping that beat in my head while pushing down on this persons chest, then James notice i was slow and came behind me and tapped my back for when i should go down. Thanks James. So this person ended up not making it, and i wasnt the happiest person to be around the next day.
Friday was a gloom day, did nothing absolutely nothing and again wasnt to excited to go back to work on saturday but i did and then i was all by myself on monday and now I LOVE MY JOB! i know this is lame, but i feel soo cool.

SECOND

I am seriously SOOOOO excited about this summer, i dont have school to worry about and have vacations to dream about. First off I am about 99% positive that i am moving down to Provo for the summer, i just need to get out of Salt Lake for a bit, i would go to Logan but that is too far away from my job. Now second, i am going to my two favorited places this summer plus a new place. My new vacation spot is going to be in Anthem, AZ visiting my sister and my three favoritest little boys for about five days then driving up with them to Salt Lake so the rest of my family can see these 4 cool peeps. Next on the list Santa Cruz, California, beside Waikiki beach this is my most favoritest beach. i love how its chilly in the mornings where you cuddle up in a sweatshirt go out and watch all the surfers then eventually strip your clothes of to your swimsuit in the afternoon because it gets soo hot! love it love it love it. and last NEW YORK CITY!!!!! my mom, sister and myself are going to the big city to do some girly things, and i am so excited because i love this city and i told my mom, i dont care what we do all i want is to have a picnic in central park and we are!!! because our hotel is right across the street from the park and even better are room looks over the park!!! ahhhhh im so excited, i might not come back because I LOVE NYC!!!!

for anyone who cares i got a new job and i start on monday, im soo exicted and nervous that i could pee my pants. My new job is in the CCU (coronary intensive care unit) i will be a critical care tech and i am so excited to expand my knowledge with nursing, that is until i get my RN. But i have to tell you i am so nervous, because my mom worked in the ICU for who knows how long and i have visited her numerous times and watching her talking and come up with all these solutions, i was scared of ICU's. But i am ready to face my fear, learn some new things and just incase if i dont like it, i still have the float pool to go back to BUT i dont think that will happen.

So it is that time of the year where they sun is shining and the tempature is rising and that mean summer is getting close. With that question begin to be asked, so what are you doing this summer? anything exciting? Its only March and i have my question answered already. I dont how this will work, i dont know how much money i will be spending. But I am moving to Provo this summer, the last place that i ever thought i would live in my life. Now your probably thinking, whats will not work about that? YAH i will be living in Provo and be driving to work pretty much everyday that is in Murray. I will get to experience many things this summer, living in provo, being stuck in traffic during "rush hour" and pay extra money for gas and the sad thing is my parents dont realize that i will be visiting a lot, a lot, a lot.

Now i am 100% sure that i am moving down there, but as of right now its 95% that i will be moving down.

p.s. more will come on my spring break adventures, i just dont want to write them at this very moment on a work computer.....
